Should I buy 460U with problems?

Greetings: I recently placed an ad in the local newspaper looking for a tractor. It went something like: Wanted: IH utility or wide front tractor, 30-50 hp, fast hitch or 3 pt, Lhyd, IPTO, PS and front loader, good working condition. A 350U would meet my needs quite nicely, but they are not that common so I generalized. I received about 8 replies and only two were worth looking into. One of the tractors is a 460U. For $3,000 I get the tractor, front loader, 5 ft brush hog, fast hitch and three point conversion. The tractor has a number of problems. I suspect I can get useful work done, but in time I will need to fix some of these problems. I am hoping the knowledgeable people on ytmag can provide guidance. Please tell me what sort of repairs and costs I might be looking at to fix these problems (best and worse case). I am also interested to hear people's thoughts on what they would pay for such a tractor. I am near Rochester, NY which appears to have higher tractor prices than many parts of the US. Problems/Condition
1.Solenoid starting to go or loose connection.
2.PTO does not fully turn off. If the PTO lever is forced down and held it will stop turning.
3.TA does not work correctly. Shifting between gears while on the high side causes gear grinding. Once in gear, low and high does work.
4.Brakes only work when at the end of their travel. Similar to a car's brakes when low on brake fluid or significant air in system.
5.Standard hydraulic valves/levers replaced with home made system.
6.Scant oil on left side of engine.
7.Oil looks clean, coolant looks good and at level.
8.Tires 70% with calcium, but rims look good, no signs of leaks
9.Tin good with limited rust. Any guidance is very much appreciated. Douglas Stockman
