This is more of a warning than what you should do. Lot's of folks might just tell you to grab a can of Hot Start (ether). Please, don't. First of all, this stuff is REALLY volatile so it is tough on your older engine. Second, because it is so volatile, it can be pretty dangerous. Last winter I watched a guy put parts of his intake manifold into low earth orbit. The engine was somewhat older (as our tractors are) and my guess is that he had an intake valve hang open slightly. When it fired, the intake manifold was full of ether. Not a pretty sight at all. Luckily, he was just badly scared not burnt or injured. Plus he was short one carbeurator and manifold.
