Bill, I used the factory gen mount, with a delco internal reg off 78 chev pu. Take a stick of 3/8 allthread 3inches longer than the gen mount, line the pulleys up and measure the distance left, make a spacer to take up the space in the gen mount. Take off the adjusting bracket and turn it over mounting it back in the same hole, that will align the adjuster with the alt. The adj will be short, I made an extension out of 1/4 x 1 flat bar about 3 in long to make up the difference. Take an old fanbelt , cut it to fit around the pulleys to measure for the lenght of the new blt, get this close cause there is not much clearence for the hood. Hope this helps
