986 Trans leak

I'm helping a neighbor with his 986, he has a recurring trans leak into the clutch compartment. He has replaced both seals several times. Can the T/A be the problem? Looking in the manual it appears the T/A sealing rings could be the problem, although it works fine. The shafts are not worn or damaged, and the seals were installed correctly. Any help appreciated!
