The old corn pickers caused more loss of hands and arms then any thing, every season there would be several accidents with them, we knew better but just to big a hurry. When they would get clogged up and not take the corn stalks thru the rolls it was tempting to pull on those stalks with the picker running, the minute the rolls would grab the stalks and go thru you just couldn't let go fast enough. I think today the grain augers are the most dangerous with farm implements on the road in the dark a close second.
