Big two wheel drive tractors I believe are now an item of the past. They needed duals to put their power on the ground, and when you dual them up they beat the H out of the front end and brakes. The big 4x4's eliminate these problems. The 4x4 ride smoother, turn better with heavy draft implements, get you through that though spot in field with confidence. In my opinion only one reason to keep a conventional type big tractor anymore that being for PTO work. At the rate self propelled harvesting equipment is being developed and built, the conventional big 4x4 tractor will be gone in 10-15 years. My guess is in 15 years just about every new tractor over 100 hp will be articulated.
