You've probably got enough water emulsified into your transmission fluid that your gear shift is more-or-less trying to navigate through an ice field. Probably have a layer of water on the bottom of your transmission casing as well, just waiting to freeze hard and bust something. Probably time to change your fluid. For good results, pick a warm day, and put the tractor out in the sun for a while to warm up good before draining. Some of these guys recommend filling with diesel and driving around for a bit to clean things up good before draining and refilling with transmission fluid. Maybe a good idea.
