The tube going to the oil cooler does have a tendancy to leak. You can try taking that off and resealing with high temp RTV etc. The valve cover should not leak. A new valve cover gasket would probably fix this unless the cover is warped. As for your 806 comparing with the 966, hearing someone else other than myself praise the greatness of the 806 is a "good". I would think it would outwork the 966. The first time I dropped a plow into the ground with my 806, I was in love.
