m & w was started by elmo meiners who was a farmer that wanted to improve his tractors performance. m&w came up with many improvements for farmall m's. here is a list of what i can think of. nine speed transmission,live pto hand clutch, aluminum pistons, dry air cleaner, add power governor, gear reduction starter, friction throttle, hi-torque crankshaft, hi lift rocker arms, live hydraulic, carb kit, high speed third and fourth gear, dual wheels, super snoot. other companies made products like these plus others too, like the clutch arm extension and power steering.
