Good they are supposed to be able to move around. If you think that is where the leak is mite want to use silicone sealer around the o-rings. I think you mite have torn one when installing. I use oil for lube in that area and havent had any problems. Do know of people who use the GE WHITE stuff when installing. It sure wont hurt anything. Sorry you have a problem aint no fun to tear down again and try to figure out where you went wrong. I had one coupke yrs ago that the cast was broke on the bottom where the o-ring went a place about 1in long. Put the white GE stuff there used ample matl and let it dry over nite then trimmed excess off the bottom so it wouldnt get into the oil system and never did leak still running without any problems.
