Kelly, I have a couple old #5 mowers. They are a good mower when adjusted right. Yours doesn't look like it has been cobbled anyway. JD had mounts for most kinds of tractors when they produced the number 5. If you can find an operator's manuel they show the various mounts. I would recemmend getting a manuel anyway as it really helps to get the mower adjusted. You can quite often find old ones at tractor shows and many of the old ones also contained a parts book. If the flat plate on the front of the mower won't match bolts in your drawbar you might try attaching plates to your drawbar and then hook mower to those. You can adjust pto length as needed by adding or cutting. You will want to get it set right side to side though. good luck on it. e mail me if you need more explanation.
