The pto is ment for 540 rpm and runs from the motor, but i have never knowen anybody that runs that on the older tractor that dont have a tack. new tractors like the jd 2755 have tacks that have your speed for the gear and a bar for where the pto speed is. sorry guys about the mention of one of those green things but i had to rent one this spring to finis cuting hay, as the h was dead no resting that is it resting. just a note my baler missed less bales when i ran at the pto mark on the jd, i have one older then your two i think an m-f 12 nothrow misses bales all the time.
