All of the 6V Farmalls I have owned always turn over slowly, no matter how short and big the cables are. I looked at going to 12v, but in the end, I installed 2 6Volt batteries in parallal and I have had no problems ever starting my Farmalls. On the M and 300U, I installed the 2nd battery by putting it in the tool box behind the seat. Every 2-3 years, I change one of the batteries and always put the newer one in the orginal location. Cheap and simple.
