Your dad is quite right, as mower will bolt to the A drawbar same as to an H or M. Because of the numerous hole in the mower cross bar and the drawbar mower could be quite easily change from an A 5 feet wide to an H 7 feet wide. the holes would allow you to adjust so heel of cutter just cleared tractor tire. The disheartening part of this project is if you need new ledger plates and a knife bar, give or take a few odds an d ends, you will spend more than the $122. your grand dad paid for the whole mower in 1950s. My dad and I used to hitch his mower to H, 300 or 130 possibly a different one each day depending on which tractor was free for mowing.
