I took my H to a tractor show and pull last weekend, I did pretty well with the pulling.I didn't win the class or anything but the 3500 pound class is very competitive here in Arizona. I did put up a respectable showing at least. After I was done with the pulls,I went out to the plow area and hooked up to a couple different types of disks and drug them around for a while. After I finished playing with the disks, I started idleing along in 3rd gear about back to the show area, when my engine gave 2 loud pops thru the exhaust and as I reached down to kill the engine it started the awfulest banging inside the engine. The water temp and oil pressure were good just befor the noise started. Today I pulled the valve cover, thinking that I had probably broken a valve spring or lost the keepers on one valve. I found everything normal looking on the top end. The oil pressure is still very good. I only started the engine long enough to check the oil pressure after the noise started. I haven't pulled the oil pan to see the bottom end yet. If it was a bearing I'd expect to see little if any oil pressure. This engine was overhauled about a year ago and has maybe 100 hrs since. So what do you think I'll find when I tear into it? This really has made me sick thinking of what is wrong in side the engine.
