TR - The dist on gas motors turns CW - opposite that of the diesel dist like you have. Also I doubt the timing advance (if has one) in the diesel dist is right for a gas motor. What you need is a dist from another W9. Alternatively a dist from an H, M, W4 or W6 will fit and work, though you may need to change springs in the centrifugal advance to get the best operation. Also: Do you happen to have a bad magneto that was supplied orginally on your W9? If so it can easily be modified to work as a distributor. All you need is a suitable battery ignition coil and do a bit of rewiring at the breaker points.
