Hard to tell what the leaking problem is, Where is it leaking from? Secondly I don't trust the 30W oil instead of hydr. fluid. He probably used the heavy oil because it was thicker and would not leak as much. Just guessing though. I would also think it would slow down the action time, I would flush the system and put in Hydraulic fluid.
......just another opinion.....
