I dont know aything about quick solder.But I have used JB weld in a pinch,It lasted for at least two years and I sold the truck with it still holding.Quick solder sounds like an epoxy type stuff to me,I am sure it will work for a while.Get it real clean,I used carb cleaner to degrease and then a little muriatic acid(swimming pool acid) make sure to clean it up good after.
