If the gasket is not broken or crumbling, I put a thin coat of RTV on it and reuse it for non high heat applications. Works great on water pumps, etc. Also get a sheet of gasket material and make your own gasket. You can put a thin coat of grease on the mating part and press the gasket material against it and you have the outline to make the new gasket. Just use an exacto knife and small hole punch, i use a leather punch with a wheel that offers several size holes. The copperplate goop works well on head gaskets.
