I have a 350U Gas Wheatland (age estimated to be about 1958) that runs like it just rolled out of the showroom (did tractors come fom Showrooms in the 50's or am I insulting my tractor?). The land I am on is hard clay and the farmer up the road told me that it his old family land I am on and that it has been broken once in history (his family settled the area in 1905). I picked up a 10ft wide Massey-Harris Trash-King cultivator (11 spades on it)at an auction during the summer. My 350U seemed to pull it fine in 1st gear, but how do I tell if I am overloading it. I am new to farming and these old tractors but I am already in love. I think that if I had to decide between the car and my 350U, the car would have to go. I would hate to hurt the tractor, so are there any guidelines I should pay attention to when using it for heavier work like this?
