Cub in a Half Ton?

Is it possible to transport a regular full size Cub tractor in the 8' box of a half ton truck? The width of the tractor is 54", I'm thinking once you get the wheels of the tractor by the wheel wells of the truck box (which is only 48") the tractor would fit. Length wise it should fit as it is only 100" long and can be shortened by turning the front wheels. The BIG QUESTION: Will a FORD F150 1/2 Ton be able to take the weight? Has anyone ever hauled one this way and what was your experience?
