Terry, From experience, I know there are different "bushings" to fit various water gauge sensing bulbs. The outside thread should be standard 1/2" NPT(National Pipe thread) It's the inside threads that are different. You either will have to have a new bushing machined to match the thread count & pitch on your gauge sensing bulb or buy a new water temp gauge at your CNH dealer as it will (Should) come with a bushing that will fit your new gauge and screw right into where you just removed the old bushing.
