My family has a '48 Cub. It has the original
"white" or soft metal cover on top of the oil
filter. The asembly would sometimes loosen
up and the oil pressure would go to zero.
Tighten the bolt not too tight) and the pressure
would come right up. An old Farmall
mechanic told me that IH had changed to a
cast steel cover because the soft ones were
problematic. He said I'd have to replace ours
someday. This was 35 years ago
