I've got an M and a SM that have both been used extensively with a heavy Bush-Hog-Freeman loader. I can't remember the model #, but it was new in the mid-70's. I'm thinking it may be a model 2000. It's made of heavy box iron, and has a trip bucket, as neither of my tractors has a live hydraulic system. If your M has power steering, that's great. If it doesn't, you'll wish it did. Live hydraulics makes the loader more versatile in that you can move it with the clutch depressed, set it up for down pressure if you like, and use a cylinder to run the bucket. The weakest part on my loader has proven to be the bucket. The frame has taken all the pressure either M has been able to put on it, but the bucket has suffered some when digging out trees, moving big rocks, etc. Generally, any attachment you can hang on an H or an M will usually mount on the other tractor. My loader came with a set of spacers that go between the frame rails and the loader mounts when putting it on an H.
