Sam,anything can be fixed but it highly depends on your abilities and the abilities to find parts.Unfortinatly in todays world it is often cheaper not to mention easier to just buy a new regulator.If you happen to have an adjustable regulator the adjustment controls the charging voltage and determines at what voltage it will kick in at or maybe its when it kicks out?somebody will know.i dont remember off the top of my head but its one or the other.
