You could be right in suspecting a hydraulic pump as the source of your problems. One hydraulic pump is responsible for powering the power steering, power brakes, and T.A. hydraulic clutches. If that pump is bad, none of those things would work, which sounds very much like the symptoms you describe. The pump is located on the back side of the multiple control valve (MCV). If you remove the MCV from the tractor, you will see the pump attached to the back of the MCV. Actually, the recommended way to solve the problem is to take the tractor to a qualified service center that is equipped to perform the necessary pressure and flow testing on the MCV. The testing would show if your problem is caused by the pump or a pressure regulating valve or some internal port blockage. It could be something as simple as a problem with the gears that drive the pump too.
