I asked the same question about 2 months ago. I have a 1944 Farmall M and tractors from times when gas still was leaded made me too ask the question: is lead something that I should sub into my tractors gas for better running. I tried a lead sub in my gas and it did help but not in the physical sence. You see, I think that it made me feel better without any effect on my tractor. I have rebuilt my tractor and replaced many engine items. The most important item, that pertains to your question, was the halve seals. This is pretty much the only thing that I could really see needing lead. Older valve seals needed that lead to lube them during use where as newer seals are now produced for your more modern un-leaded fuels. I did some research on this and found that 95% of all valve seals produced after the 80's are made for unleaded gasoline. So, the question is have you had your seals replaced on your tractors head? If not, a lead subt. wouldn't hurt but I doubt that without it is going to cause anymore damage than you may have already. I would suggest having your tractors head serviced and get new seals put in it. Hope this helps.

It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
