Mike and Jim, The noise is out of the exhaust pipe. Looked under hood and saw the damper was almost shut. Deep into the footfeed, it opens up and all is well. Get off it and it slows the engine like a jake brake. There is an actuator hooked to the damper w/ a rod. What tells this thing to open and close?? THX ford man. Checkin' back later, gotta go beat a JD 60 trans apart.
