Traction question

I was putting out a round bale for the horses today and after dropping the bale the little grade started to get a bit slippy. I'm using a Farmall 504 with semi good tires and 300lbs of wheel weights. When I've got a bale on, 4x4 round, the traction is good but without it starts to spin a bit. Should I get a set of chains or would another set of wheel weights do the trick?
