The gasolene tank was bolted on the right hand side of the head. You should see four threaded bolt holes there. The hood had a fifth hole for the gas cap, you might find a five hole hood in a tractor salvage yard. These tractors had a heat gauge, a hand lever to control the shutter openings, a manifold shield and a heat control on the manifold. The tractor started on gasolene and when the heat gauge was up to "run" you closed the gas tank valve and opened the kerosene vale.I have a JD "B", a "LAI" Case and a "C" Farmall, all with identical shutters, but differnt control mechanisms. I visited the Chicago Farmall plant several times and watched the "A" and "B" being assembled.
