Yes, $6K is outside my "build it for fun" cost range. But if you look at MetKit's price list, it would be pretty easy to build if for probably 2,000 less if you scrounged steel and lawn mower engine. My Dad built a tractor (no hydraulics, though, so we were stuck with pull-along implements) from a Model A Ford car engine and a Model T truck rear. It was (and is) great for skidding rocks and pulling a trailer. We plowed and disced with it, too. We needed it when we were clearing land to build a house, but he mostly built it because he had one on the farm as a kid and always wanted one of his own. Bill
