I do everything from brush hog to snow plowing with mine. The 5' brush hog will be no problem You'll need to gear down if you get into thick heavy grass. It came with a set of 2 bottoms and it pulls them well. As far as making hay it'll do the job, but as others have said not as well as the bigger tractor. Flat ground you'll have no problem but I'd avoid hills. Over all it makes a great light duty tractor.
