I ran a 9 foot New Holland for years with a Farmall 300, you would have 7-8 hp on me. I will say this because of responce of 300 governors, I would break 2-3 shear bolts per day. Later on I ran the same haybine with 656D and never broke a shear bolt. I come from dairy country and was always accepted that 52 hp diesel was ideal on 9 foot haybine. But then those ideal guys were knocking down 3000+ bales per day.
