Before live hyd. you stated the baler or combine with trans mission out of gear. When you had the pto at speed you push in clutch and speed shifted and started in a smooth motion as possible, fact it could be done. Later on we bought an overriding cluth that went on the pto and worked like a ratchit wrench. When you had the pto up to speed you push in the clutch and it started clicking as it worked till you put tractor in gear and could start much smoother. Jon
