Could probably right a small book about my H already and I've only had it about a year. Spent last winter rebuilding the engine and fixing other things. Ended up buying 2 H's to make one good one, plus I still had to buy a replacement block. It was a lot of work to get the old girl going again, but it sure is fun to operate her too! I bought the first H mainly for the mid-mount sickle bar mower for haying, the transmission was bad on that one. So I bought another and ended up using most of the parts from that one. I have quite a bit of money in it now, but it was worth it. I am trying to sell right now for what I have in it, but I doubt anyone will pay that much for an H. So this spring I plan on painting it and making it look real nice again, probably paint the mower too while I'm at it. A couple of interesting stories: Neighbor bought a new New Holland 75 horsepower diesel last winter, wanted to disc with it this spring with a 14' disc. We have a big hill by our farm and he couldn't get up the hill in road gear pulling the disc! I run the hill in road gear on my H with the mounted mower and pulling the rake behind that! Just for fun one day I think I'll hook into his disc and pull that up the hill in road gear too. My H is the first tractor that I bought and fixed up with my own money, so technically it is my first tractor. The first tractor my Dad ever bought for himself was also an H! He also rebuilt the engine in his one winter and then sold it to a relative. Relative still has it, and I'm going to get it back as a surprise for my Dad. All I have to do is find another H or M to replace it with and he will trade me! Email me if your interested in seeing pictures of the rebuild process. Once again, thanks for letting me share!

Pitfalls of Tractor Engine Rebuilds - by Chris Pratt. The first pop after you have put the machine together with your own hands is exciting and pleasing. The whole experience can be marred if one moves too fast and makes too many assumptions that they can just use "as is" some parts they should be closely scrutinizing and possibly attended to. In such cases, rework makes what could have been a fun project turn into an irritant or even a nightmare. Minor Irritants To give you an example of an minor but irritating proble
