Gear Clash on A, B, C

I found something interesting the other day on my Super A. The shift pattern on it has a place above reverse that has no gear in it. If you push the shifter into that location before trying to shift into another gear the gears do not "clash". After running in neutral and then shifting into a gear it seemed that you had to wait a long time after depressing the clutch for the gears to stop turning before you could shift without "clashing". Using this method seems to work almost every time!
