Chris, I am not a puller but I've been around the block a few times and there are some small things you can do to get a little more kick out of an M. First traction is a function of pressure and so chose a tire that gives you the best numbers in term of pounds per square inch on the ground, a narrower tire will give better traction than a wide one because the weight per square inch is greater, but if you go too small you reverse the situation. The M needs a tuned exhaust and the factory muffler usually was close but you can learn from the drag racers. Take a length of exhaust pipe than fits the M starting with 4 feet at least. Work the M and put it through it's paces. Observe the pipe and where the pipe appears burned purple \blue is the place to cut it off. The pipe is now tuned to the system and will give you the best back pressure/flow and it will scavenge. Scavenging is hard to describe but it has the right back pressure using unburned gas to create more horsepower within the head. I would also use an octane boost to give your fuel a little extra kick. There is some disagreement as to octane not all being used but it works at the drag strip.Other than tires this costs nothing to try. Also the oil breather/ cleaner can be emptied of oil for the pulls and/or replaced with a paper element to give good flow. Good luck from Mike in exeter Ontario
