MW Nine Speed Transmission

I have seen several postings on the M&W nine speed transmission modification on this board. I have one on my Farmall MD and one of the things that I never thought about until reading one of the postings is that the belly pump runs at twice normal speed when in high range. Originally my MD had a dog clutch to disengage the belly pump (I don't know who made that). Now I am thinking that it was to disengage the belly pump when running in the high range.

Does anyone know if running the belly pump at the higher rpm will damage it? Roger
