John, Oil capacity will be around 6 quarts. Like Wildbill said, open the top petcock and add oil till it just starts to come out. If your plugs are not new, get new ones. They are probably carbon fouled and are shorted out by the fouling. When you get new plugs, go at least two heat ranges hotter. They will last a lot longer than the "standard" plugs, and they won't hurt the engine at all unless you do heavy work all day long. As long as the tractor won't be doing heavy work, the hotter plugs are the way to go. Phil
