If you really want a show quality paint job, get the primer the same place as the paint. Ask the person to explain the differences between primers that are compatible with the paint you are going to use. Most likely, he/she will recommend a specific primer to use with the paint you are going to use. If you can't get help at the paint dealer, try talking with a paint/body person. They will probably offer some suggestions based on what you want the paint to look like when finished.
