This proposed change tractor from TA to non TA will require same labour whether you replace TA or a direct shaft. I suspect you will find total cost difference will not be great. In future your 756 will have a much greater resale value with TA than without. Remember, none of us live forever and some day someone will be selling that tractor. I realize you don't do much with tractor. This is why I am always preaching small tractors. The big ones may seem cheap to buy, but a the parts counter they are not cheap. Remember I had an uncle in 1950s farmed 100 acres and milked 20 cows. Only tractor was a Farmall SA. He always seemed to have more leisure time than most of his neighbours with much larger tractors. His front end loader was a fork. Any Farmall SA, SC, Ford 8-N, small Masseys can be completely rebuilt for less than $2000. in parts if still running. Those 70 hp could be closer to 10 K. Who's to say next year it wont be another major component. My friend there are more large tractors parked with something wrong, and people either unwilling or unable to spend money to fix. The back 40s of North America are full of them.
