Hugh I will first say you know much more about As and Super As than I do but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. The 1941 A I have owned since mid sixtys has factory temperature guage. The IH number for guage was 53619DB, Water inlet elbow with 1/2 inch pipe plug was 6764DAX and the mounting bracket was 53620D. Feel sure they are no longer available from IH but they do exist in salvage yard out there somewhere.
