11 inch rear rims on an H

I just purchased two new 11 inch rear rims for my 44 H. The center ridge of the old 10 inch rim is about 1 3/4 wide. The ridge on the 11 inch is about 2 1/2 inch wide. Can I just turn the wedges that hold the rim to the wheel around? It looks like it might work. Or should I shim the wedges to compensate for the additional width. Has anyone come across this before? {I bought the rims from M.E. Miller.}
