The common 12 volt "backkup" bulb is number 1156. Very popular and all stores will have them. It will fit and work. However they are not the same shape glass as the old 6volt headlight bulbs. And the style of filament is probably different than the correct headlamp bulb which will make a slight different in the light. As soon as I get my new light bulb catalog I can look up the proper 12 headlamp bulb number for you. I don't know where you are located but sometimes at the swap meets here in MN there will be a guy or two who has located the correct 6 or 12 volt headlamp bulbs and sells them at very reasonable prices much cheaper than places like NAPA get.
