I would like to thank the respondents on the M seat inquiry. i have a 1940 M with the groove in the transmission cover, and the one bolt seat mounting bracket. I converted a pipe type seat to this bracket, but it doesn't sit right. I'm quite sure I need the channel iron seat frame, but am at a loss as to what it looks like, and the correct dimensions. I have looked for an M of this vintage, at many shows, but have yet to see the original seat bracket. They are mostly replaced by the coil spring/shock absorber seat from Western Auto or some such vendor. Thanks for your continuing help.
