you will need a switch that will accomplish two things at once:
in the OFF position, it will need to be able to ground the mag, yet have an open circuit to the exciting circuit(the warning lamp circuit) for the alternator.
in the ON position, it will have an open circuit to the mag (so your tractor will run), and a closed circuit for the alternator exciter circuit.

i have heard NAPA has this type of ign. switch.
