I have a 1947 MD with disk brakes. The brakes were made by Lambert and were I think a dealer option, although some say the factory also installed them. The Lambert brakes are similar in function to the disk brakes on the Supers. However, the splines, disks, and housings are different. I don't think any of the parts interchange. The Lambert brakes are shown in the parts catalog that my dealer has. He says that the disks (quite expensive) are still available from IH. I had mine relined by a local clutch/brake rebuilder.
