The ELWOOD company has changed names to first EMCO and now TRAC-4. They originally were from and still are based in Elwood, IL. The company called "Elenco" is totally different and NOT related to Elwood in any way. "Elenco" did not make FWA axles for IH. Elwood did. I highly doubt that Elwood made any kits for Ford, MM, JD or the others. Elwood axles were an IH factory approved attachment. Elenco were not. Elenco fwa axles mounted on Ford 861's were covered in a story featured in Antique Power magazine a few years back. Elenco started by using old Dodge Power Wagon axles on Ford and Case tractors. Elenco was based out of Aurora, IL. Elwood used old 6X6 Army Truck axles they had bought surplus from the US Army base across the road in Joliet, IL.(until they built thier own in the 1950's) These axles 10 times better than what the Power Wagon axles had hoped they could be... Now you know the rest of the story............
