I'm older than dirt, and would never attempt to split a tractor again, but if you don't mind a little advice from an ol tractor nut with rust and oil in his veins, the one thing I know about splitting is you CAN'T be too careful. Extreme caution, reliable braces and patience is the order of the day. I know you didn't ask for that type of advice and you may not even welcome it, but tractors are a lot more fun if they don't fall on your toe. Happy splittin'.
