If the float needle valve seals (not difficult to assure) AND the hard gasket under the seat AND the hard gasket under the discharge nozzle do not leak (by no means certain), AND the float itself doesn't leak, you will have a drip-free carburetor. The needles are often blamed for the other problems.

This gasket defect was found as the reason several of my worst carburetors were dripping by testing with low pressure air and soap bubbles. Now that I know that, I'm fixing my problem carburetors one by one.
